The 1910 Remington 12: Big, Bold, Soul-Stirring

OVER 100 YEARS OLD - THE REMINGTON 12

Have you ever closed your eyes to enjoy something on a deeper level? Such as a smooth glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, the moving sound of a moody cello, the cozy voice of a book or poem being read out loud, or the invigorating fragrance of pine in a forest?

This is the mood emanating from a 1910 Remington 12. It's big, bold, soul-stirring, yet also strong and resolute. It offers a sure performance that commands respect as I touch the keys; it exudes an air of confidence.

Many of these old upright standard typewriters carry—and have earned—the same distinction. They are the pioneers of a shift and transformation in society. However, unlike so many other trailblazers who passed the torch and then disappeared...they are still here. Still commanding respect, teaching, guiding, reminding us of who we are.

Every typist needs at least one standard upright in their collection, even if only to touch the keys and reflect on the value of perseverance, thought, invention, and steadfastness.

This particular Remington had significant chipping, but for 115+ years old, it still was attractive. The performance was also stellar and a joy to use. It found a new home in North Dakota.
