Sterling typewriters are some of the most popular. You really can’t go wrong with them as they are superb performers and classic through and through. This one is beautiful though there are some scratches on the lower left front corner, but not very noticeable.
The keystroke action is smooth and easy to use and I found it quite enjoyable to type. There is one issue with this typewriter: the carriage return is a little gritty and noisy. When you use the release lever, the carriage is smooth and quiet. But the use of the return handle is noisy. Check out the demo video to see what I mean. That being said, the performance overall is still great.
I’d recommend this for students and hobby writers. You won’t be disappointed.
We’ve repaired, serviced, cleaned, and tested this typewriter. A new ribbon is installed.

It’s ready to go! Comes with the original hard-sided case. The handle is missing from the case. The lock looks like it’s had better days but it does clasp shut nicely.
