I know I sell up nearly every typewriter because, well, I like typewriters…BUT, this lady is FANTASTIC. So much so, that I’m seriously struggling with listing it for sale. If you are going to invest in one typewriter, then make it this one. No joke. Get it. It’s worth every penny.
The SM5 had a short manufacturing run and was made in this one color palette. I’m not sure if it was originally cream and it yellowed over time or if it was yellow and faded over time. Either way, it’s perfect, reminding me of my grandmother’s vintage lace tablecloth.
The exterior hardly has any scratches (I don’t think it does but I’ll be a bit generous in my assessment). Mechanically, it couldn’t work any better.
The case is a lovely cream and grey and in great condition!
A new ribbon is installed and she is waiting for the absolute perfect home. Someone who will treasure her like the gem she is.
