This is a beautiful 1959 Remington Quiet Riter portable typewriter in Thunder Cloud Gray. We did repaint this typewriter as the original condition necessitated it. The original color was called “French Gray”. We looked for a gray that was very similar. While it’s not exact, it is close and looks beautiful!
It types VERY WELL and will be good for authors. One note: Remington typewriters do NOT use a standard ink ribbon spool. You will need to hand-roll new ribbon on the fixed metal spools in the typewriter. We have rolled fresh ribbon on the spools for you and it should last you quite awhile, but please be aware that they are not interchangeable spools. You can take the ribbon off of other spools, but either way, it needs to be hand-wound onto the fixed spools within the typewriter.
