PRODUCT-SPECIFIC INFO

Stunning 1922 Underwood 3 in very good condition. The front decals are in excellent condition, clearly able to see the teal and gold striping. The backplate decals look great as well. The decals for the very front bottom bar looked like they’ve been either removed or painted over. We’ve added new metal spools with extra ribbon. The keys have all been replaced with glass keys from a similar typewriter from around the same year. They are in excellent condition as well. You will see some surface wear among the carriage pieces, showing its age. We replaced a few missing or broken pieces. It’s been cleaned and waxed and is a beauty! We do not refurbish, only service, typewriters so we have not replaced the plated or typebars or taken the machine completely apart. Please look closely at all the photos. A gorgeous machine that will look amazing in any room AND is useable!!

performance review: I’m really impressed with the performance of this 100-year-old typewriter! I was a little nervous to try it at the beginning but it types quite well. That being said, I do recommend it for light use only and a slow and steady hand. I love the sound and the feel of this machine. Tab and backspace work. The period key “./” does not contact the paper well. Also, the bell does not work. It’s still functional and enjoyable. Great for letters and journaling. Be sure to keep the tutorial video I did on hand to show you how to use this machine.
